KLEIBERIT Sets Standards

The Reactive STP Adhesive KLEIBERIT 605.1.20 is Uniquely Available Worldwide

A product from KLEIBERIT’s adhesive research, developed from expertise in research, development, and practical application technology, is produced in the Baden-Württemberg region of Weingarten and is available to a broad market in both craftsmanship and industry.
KLEIBERIT has successfully combined all the advantages of previous adhesive systems used for assembly and bonding in a single-component adhesive (1C) based on silane-terminated polymer technology (STP), while eliminating the disadvantages of other adhesives like PUR or PVAc systems.

This STP adhesive is free of water, isocyanates, and solvents, offering exceptional adhesive strength across different materials, both together and separately. A major advantage is that bonding with this reactive STP adhesive does not require permanent press pressure; it bonds simply through joining or stacking pressure in a short amount of time. Additionally, the adhesive does not cause swelling or shrinkage in the bonding joint, as no water components are included in the adhesive, and the curing process generates zero CO2. The open time is very comfortable, ranging up to 15 minutes depending on humidity and ambient temperature. The easy-to-use consistency of this patented adhesive is notable for its flowability and economical application via roller, notched trowel, brush, or bead application directly from the practical spray bottle.

The adhesive is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. The low-emission adhesive (EC 1 plus, according to GEV EMICODE® classification) has been certified by the Institute for Window Technology / Rosenheim according to DIN EN 4102, D4, and also meets the requirements of DIN EN 14257 (WATT 91).

The Fine Art of Sustainable (Zero) Glue Joints

At Holz-Handwerk/Fensterbau Frontale 2026, KLEIBERIT will showcase topics related to sustainability and design versatility in edge banding, combined with superior adhesive performance.

When it comes to the appearance of kitchen, bathroom, or living room furniture, the interplay between the edge and the surface plays a decisive role. Not only because of resistance to water and heat or the matching color of the edge to the surface decor. What is particularly crucial is a joint that is as invisible as possible - the so-called zero glue joint.

It is precisely in this area of tension that adhesives play a crucial role. KLEIBERIT offers a product portfolio specifically developed over many years for this purpose. The focus at the trade show is on new developments such as the label-free PUR hotmelt adhesive KLEIBERIT 707.9 ME series, which offers special properties and benefits for the applicator. One standout feature is the Overnight Technology, which means that even if the production process is interrupted for an extended period, including overnight, no cleaning of the application systems is required, and processing can resume seamlessly. The virtually invisible joint provides optimal protection for edge bonding against moisture ingress in kitchens and bathrooms or even in tropical environments, as the adhesive joint created with PUR hotmelt adhesives can be described as irreversible and permanent. To meet the growing demand from users and consumers regarding health and safety, KLEIBERIT has developed the bio-based PUR adhesive system 707.9.85 ME BIO. This PUR hotmelt adhesive is produced with approximately 30% renewable, non-petroleum-based raw materials and is also completely label-free.

Its applications range from edging various panel materials with ABS, PMMA, and PP edges, as well as CPL and HPL edges, to bonding paper, veneer, and solid wood edges with a heat resistance of up to +140 °C or -30 °C.
