PPWR – Packaging at KLEIBERIT
The Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), Regulation (EU) 2025/40, sets out requirements for packaging and packaging waste across Europe. KLEIBERIT assesses and implements the requirements applicable to our packaging in accordance with the legal provisions.
What information do you need?
The Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) is Regulation (EU) 2025/40 on packaging and packaging waste. It sets out requirements for packaging and packaging waste at European level. The Regulation has generally been in force since 12 August 2026.

The necessary conformity assessment procedures are carried out. The technical documentation is drawn up and retained for the periods prescribed by law. Where necessary, the relevant EU declarations of conformity for the respective types of packaging are issued and made available to the competent authorities upon reasoned request.
An end user is generally defined as a consumer or commercial user who uses a supplied product themselves and does not make it available on the market again in that form.
Companies that act exclusively as end-users are, in principle, under no obligation to prepare PPWR documentation for the packaging they receive.
KLEIBERIT provides the necessary information, in particular to business partners who themselves have to fulfil obligations within the supply chain.
No. KLEIBERIT does not make signed PPWR certificates, conformity documents and technical documentation publicly available for download. If, due to your role within the supply chain, you require such information or evidence, you may request it from KLEIBERIT.
You may request confirmation from us regarding the heavy metal requirements set out in Article 5(4) of the PPWR for the packaging and packaging components supplied by KLEIBERIT.

KLEIBERIT provides the necessary PPWR information and evidence depending on the business partner’s specific role and the applicable statutory or contractual requirements. Signed confirmations, compliance documents and technical PPWR documentation are not made available for public download on our website. If you require such information, please send us a request specifying the relevant KLEIBERIT product – including the KLEIBERIT item number where possible – and details of your role within the supply chain.
